In a landmark move, Gujarat is set to host the 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards in 2024. The state's Tourism Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Worldwide Media to organize the prestigious event. The ceremony aims to promote Gujarat as a prime film destination, showcasing its rich cultural heritage and infrastructure. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed confidence that hosting the Filmfare Awards will attract filmmakers and boost local tourism. Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, present at the MoU signing, highlighted his personal connection to Gujarat, noting his grandfather hailed from the state. This collaboration is expected to enhance Gujarat's reputation in the film industry and stimulate economic growth through increased cinematic activities.
